DERMA FILLERS / NEUROMODULATORS

+ DOES BOTOX HURT?

Patients generally say that the injection feels slightly uncomfortable, like a quick prick. If you’re concerned about pain, let our provider know -- the area can be temporarily numbed with a topical cream to minimize any discomfort.

+ HOW LONG UNTIL BOTOX WORKS?

You’ll see the results begin to show within about 24-48 hours after the procedure. By 3-5 days afterwards, most of the Botox effects will have developed, although it can take up to two weeks for the treatment to take full effect.

+ ARE THERE ANY RISKS WITH GETTING BOTOX SHOTS?

Botox has been shown to be relatively safe. Like any procedure, however, there’s some amount of risk. Though they’re rare, there have been complications reported in a small percentage of cases. Most side effects are temporary and go away on their own.

The most common reported side effects are:
• Headache
• Eyelid ptosis (drooping eyelid)
• Eyelid edema (swollen eyelid)
• Brow ptosis (drooping brow)

Make sure you tell your provider about any health conditions and medications during your pre procedure consultation.

+ HOW DOES JUVEDERM® WORK? WHAT IS IT MADE OF?

Dermal fillers like Juvederm® are used to treat areas that have lost volume throughout time or are lacking volume due to genetic factors. They can smooth creases, lift folds, and contour areas that are flat or hollow. They literally “fill” the treated area to create a smoother and more youthful appearance. Juvederm® fillers are comprised of hyaluronic acid molecules (a water loving substance found naturally in the body), that have been specially formulated to treat these areas of concern.

+ HOW LONG DO JUVEDERM® FILLERS LAST?

Longevity depends on the type of filler product selected, the area treated, and the individual patient. Juvederm fillers can last from six months to two years. It’s important for patients to discuss all of their aesthetic goals with us during their initial consultation.

+ WILL IT LOOK OBVIOUS THAT I HAVE HAD JUVEDERM® INJECTIONS? WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Results Juvederm injections are immediate, and yours can be as subtle or dramatic as you choose based on the volume of product used. Our skilled injection specialists administer thousands of aesthetic injections each year with fabulous results.* One consideration to note is that while bruising is usually minimal, it is always a potential risk; therefore, it is not wise to get treated immediately before a big event.

+ WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS AND RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH JUVEDERM®? IS JUVEDERM® SAFE?

The risks associated with Juvederm® injections are low and it is considered safe. The most common side effect is bruising which will generally resolve after a few days. Discomfort is minimal, as you can be pre-treated with topical numbing cream. While risk of allergic reaction is very rare, make sure to inform your injection specialist of any allergies you may have.

ENHANCE YOUR VITALITY AND WELL-BEING

+ How does the P-Shot work?

The Priapus Shot® utilizes the power of platelet-enriched blood plasma collected from the patient’s own body. The doctor injects the platelet-rich plasma, which encourages and stimulates the body’s natural healing and restoration process. In total, the procedure usually takes less than half an hour.

The blood is drawn and then activated. Then, using FDA approved supplies, platelets within your blood are separated and concentrated. The doctor injects the natural serum into the patient’s genital area using an extremely small needle and supplemented with a local anesthetic cream so that the procedure is as painless and comfortable as possible. Patients see noticeable results right away, and they continue to improve over the next few weeks.

Benefits last 18 months or longer, and may include:
• Enhanced girth / length of penis
• Increased sexual stamina
• Increased pleasure
• Increased sensation
• Increased sexual capabilities / ability to please partner
• Enhanced firmness of erection
• Increased blood flow, circulation

+ How does the O-Shot cause vaginal rejuvenation?

The shot works by using “high quality” Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) produced from the patient’s own blood. The PRP contains cell regenerating growth factors which, when injected into specific areas of the vagina, trigger stem cells to increase blood flow and generate healthy tissue growth as well as help improve the vascularization of the area.

Patients have reported a range of positive effects from the shots including:
• Increased sensation
• Greater arousal from clitoral stimulation
• The ability to have an orgasm from penetrative sex when previously unable
• Younger and smoother skin of the vulva
• Stronger and more frequent orgasms
• Improvement in urinary incontinence
• Decreased pain for those experiencing painful sex
• Increased natural lubrication
• Increased ability to have a vaginal orgasm

+ What Is Anal Bleaching vs. Vaginal Bleaching?

Anal bleaching is the more common of the two bleaching procedures, mainly due to longer period of time it has been a service. Anal bleaching refers to a treatment that lightens the skin around the anus, which is a medical procedure done mainly for cosmetic purposes, in order to lighten the color of the skin around the anal region. For vaginal bleaching, the procedure is a bit different, but the end goal is technically the same - to lighten the skin outside the vagina or the vulva (including the labia and mons).

Both of these procedures are typically done as an extra boost of confidence, self-esteem or even just to see what it’s like. Since the results aren’t permanent, some people do this procedure often while others do it only for special occasions. Most people do it because they like the appeal of the uniform looking lighter skin versus the dark patches or overall dark skin that is common in the vaginal and anal area.

SKIN REJUVENATION MENU FAQ

CELLULITE REDUCTION, DERMAPLANING, FACIALS, PRP, AND MORE

+ What is the Cellfina System?

Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared, minimally invasive, one-time procedure that has clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least three years—the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite treatment. A straightforward solution to cellulite, Cellfina® combines a proven approach with innovative, proprietary technology, to produce precise, long-lasting results

+ How does the Cellfina System work?

The Cellfina System treats the primary structural cause of cellulite—the connective bands woven throughout fat in the thighs and buttocks. These tight bands pull down the skin, creating the puckering you see on the surface of the skin. Similar to a rubber band under tension, once released, the treated skin bounces back to smooth itself out.

+ How soon will I see improvements with Cellfina?

Results can be seen in as little as three days. In the pivotal study, patient satisfaction was 85 percent at three months, 94 percent at one year, 96 percent at two years, and 93 percent at 3 years, surpassing the patient satisfaction rates of other leading cellulite treatments.
* Satisfaction rates were evaluated separately and are not based on direct comparisons among treatments.

+ Does Cellfina involve cutting?

Cellfina does not involve an operating room or general anesthesia. It relies on a minimally invasive, small needle-sized device to treat the cellulite-causing bands just beneath the surface of the skin.

+ How long do cellfina results last?

Patients in the pivotal study showed significant improvement shortly after the treatment, with results lasting at least three years—the longest FDA clearance for a cellulite treatment.

+ Are there any side effects with Cellfina?

No serious adverse events were associated with Cellfina® in the pivotal study. The most common side effects reported by patients in the FDA‑cleared pivotal study were soreness, tenderness, and bruising. Just three days after treatment, patients rated their pain as minimal (2.7 on a scale of 0 to 10; 0=no pain, 10=extreme pain), and most (82 percent) felt pain only with touch or pressure to the area treated. This minimal pain improved quickly with time. More than 90 percent of patients had no bruising at four weeks.

+ How long does the cellfina procedure take?

In just one 45-minute treatment, Cellfina significantly improves the appearance of cellulite on the buttocks and thighs.

+ Will I need to take time off after cellfina treatment?

There is limited downtime associated with Cellfina. Some patients experience initial soreness and tenderness, but these side effects resolve quickly with time.

+ What sets Hydrafacial apart from other Hydradermabrasion Procedures?

HydraFacial uses a unique, patented Vortex-Fusion delivery system to exfoliate, extract and hydrate skin, and, the spiral design delivers painless extractions.

+ What is Vortex-Fusion Technology for Hydrafacials?

The spiral design of HydroPeel® Tips, used in conjunction with the HydraFacial proprietary vacuum technology and serums, creates a vortex effect to easily dislodge and remove impurities while simultaneously delivering hydrating skin solutions.

+ What can PRP Therapy Treat?

Arthritis
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Chronic pain
Hair loss
Osteoarthritis (degeneration of the joints)
Plantar fasciitis
Rotator cuff injuries
Sacroiliac problems
Tendonitis
Tennis Elbow

+ How do PRP injections work?

Following the centrifuge, the blood divides up into its components, with platelets being the part we're focused on. Blood platelets normally stop cuts from bleeding. This happens because they draw regenerative cells known as "progenitor cells" to promote healing.

With platelet-rich plasma therapy, you are creating the same situation. Following the injection, a high concentration of platelets provides the treated area with regenerative factors, which help expedite the healing and recovery process.

+ Is there any downtime associated with PRP?

There is no downtime associated PRP injections; However, after your treatment, your skin may be red. This is normal and to be expected. Redness usually lasts from one to 24 hours. You may also have a little swelling in some areas.

Due to this, some patients like to be treated towards the end of the week, so they have the weekend to recover. Healing time varies from patient to patient. Healing may take longer if PRP injections are paired with micro-needling.

RESTORE HYDRATION AND ENERGY

+ What is IV therapy?

Intravenous (IV) vitamin therapy is a safe and effective method for delivering vitamins and minerals directly to your bloodstream. This method bypasses the digestive tract which allows for 100% absorption of all nutrients, making them immediately available for cellular use.

+ What are the benefits of iv therapy?

There are many benefits, which include but are not limited to:
• Most efficient method of delivering vital nutrients to the body
• Bypasses the digestive tract for 100% absorption
• Nutrients are immediately available for cellular use
• Safely delivers higher doses of vitamins that would not be tolerated if taken orally
• Boosts immune system to help prevent or treat illness • Increases energy
• Slows the effects of aging

+ DO IVs work?

We use only skilled professionals for IV placement to ensure the least amount of pain is felt if any at all. A numbing topical cream can be purchased for use to dull the sensation at request. Once the IV is in place only a very small straw will be left in the vein ensuring a comfortable session.

LASER THERAPY FAQ

SKIN REMODELING, RESURFACING, REDUCTION, AND MORE.

+ What is IPL?

IPL is intense pulse light. It is characterised as a beam of light which targets the melanin in the shaft of the hair. The beam of light converts energy to heat and disables the hair follicular cells that are responsible for hair growth. Intense pulsed light (known by patients as IPL laser but can be confused for a laser) systems release precisely controlled strong pulses of filtered light that are absorbed by melanin, the pigment in hair. This heats up the hair and destroys the cells responsible for hair growth, to achieve long term hair reduction. There are a lot of machines marketed as “IPL” machines on the market but the majority of these do not utilise the trademark technology of IPL and work on other theories and therefore do not have the same consistent results.

+ How is an IPL Photo Rejuvenation Treatment carried out?

You will be asked to put on goggles (stick on laser eye shields may be used for facial rejuvenation treatments) to protect your eyes. A layer of chilled gel is applied to the area to guide the light into the skin. The area will also be cooled to increase comfort during treatment. The light guide is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, targeting many follicles simultaneously. The applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area of skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated. The chilled gel is removed and the area moisturised.

+ What happens during a hair removal treatment?

It begins by trimming away the hair above the skin, usually by shaving (on your first hair removal treatment we may ask that you shave approx 3 days prior so we may see the area but not have a thick growth of hair to remove). Then, a cool gel is spread over the treatment area. The IPL handpiece is then applied to the skin and pulses of light are released from the handpiece and begin to disable unwanted hair. When the gel is removed, much of the treated hair is wiped off with it. The remaining hair in treated area falls out over the next two weeks and for up to 30 days.
